Why do we return to Lima ...?

Last year we said that "From different measurements, Peru is the one that best projects economically in the region ... in the specific field of blueberry production it is manifested giving unbeatable facilities for foreign investment, boosting the industry and offering its exceptional natural qualities". Today we must repeat this affirmation and recognize that Peru is advancing by leaps and bounds in the region.

The positioning of the consumption of blueberries in the world is consolidated, no doubt fits. The characteristics of antioxidant and antibiotic, among other healthy qualities of this fruit are indisputable. The demand in the world advances in different directions, either preferring the fruit converted into an elaborated product, in a frozen state, as fresh fruit, or as an organic crop. What is not in doubt is the permanent increase in consumption, so that the expansion of this crop will increase. And due to its characteristics of nutraceutical, healthy fruit, or superfood, its demand is increasing, so that the commercial profitability of its cultivation will continue to be attractive as a business.

Peru has picked up this challenge and opportunity putting itself in the campaign with strategic plans of long breath. Increasing exponentially the areas of cultivation and lowering the entry barriers for investment in the development of the blueberry industry.

Last year we said that "What Peru needs is transfer of experiences and knowledge for the good development of the blueberry industry to place it at a competitive level, and this need is an opportunity for the Chilean producers and experts who have been in the field for decades", and we held a seminar in Lima under the title: "How to face the technical challenges for the correct development of the blueberry industry in Peru", which was a success. It was attended by hundreds of people and dozens of export and service companies for the blueberry industry.

It was at a time when the Peruvian blueberry industry was in full development and the contents and knowledge that we shared in that meeting we thought were very useful to explain the spectacular level in which it is.

Indeed, today we are faced with a more mature industry, with large volumes, which aims at consolidation, with producers with vast experience in cultivation, and an international commercialization of the product with a great scope and importance. Do not forget that Peru has all the varieties of climate and soil, and is one of the five countries with more water in the world, well above the rest of the region, second only to Brazil and Paraguay, which have the Amazon.

That is why we will hold a new blueberry seminar at the JW Marriott, and this August 4 will meet at the meeting: "Peru and the cranberry industry: Towards technical, productive and commercial consolidation".

We are certain that it will be as profitable as the previous one for the Peruvian industry and for the Latin American cultivation of cranberry in general, so we invite you to know the program and participate in this event: blueberriesconsulting.com
