Peru will take the global lead in the use of AI in its economy

Study by McKinsey Global Institute:
Peru is at the forefront of the world, ranking fourth in the world, as an economy in which the IA will directly influence its potential development and probable growth.

The expansion of Artificial Intelligence, AI, is already an impossible reality to stop and its speed of advance is different depending on the part of the world that we analyze, so the level of automation of tasks varies according to the level of development of each region . The McKinsey Global Institute study, GMI, A future that works: Automation, employment and productivity, examines the potential for incorporation of AI into the work of 46 countries, which at the same time represent around 80% of the global employment force.

Japan stands out in the first place in the countries in which the AI will be incorporated into its economic and productive activities, with an 55,7% of its tasks assumed by robots or computer programs.

Countries with more progress will be able to adopt some solutions faster hardware in its production, because it requires a lot of initial investment and that will make them lead the transformation. Those like Japan, with many jobs dedicated to production and administration, will coexist with androids before other countries such as the US, which has more professions that are not as automatable, such as architects or engineers.

Peru, a world leader

The study, published in January of this year, estimates that with the development of AI, productivity and GDP will increase, but it also details that for this it is necessary that automation be accompanied by “additional measures such as the re-elaboration of processes or the development of new products, services and business modelso ".

Europe is very far from the leadership of Japan, with indexes below 50% and 30% in some cases. Asia shows disparate results, with China and India as highlights, with levels close to 50%. In our continent, the level is also disparate, averaging 40%, although Peru is at the forefront of the world with an 54% incorporation of IA into its economic activities, very close to Japan, highlighting in a relevant way everything related to the agricultural activity and in general to the manufactured production process, ranking fourth in the world, as an economy in which the IA will directly influence its potential development and probable growth.

New era

The development of AI and machine learning will put society in the cusp of a new era of automation. Not only do robotic machines perform a number of routine physical jobs better and cheaper than humans, but they are also increasingly capable of carrying out activities that include cognitive abilities, such as making tactical judgments, feeling emotions, and even driving. . Automation will change everyone's daily work activities and will impact employment and productivity in the global economy, allowing companies to improve performance by reducing errors and improving quality and speed, and in some cases the achievement of results that go beyond human capabilities.

At a global time of low productivity this would give a boost to economic growth and prosperity. It would also help counteract the impact of a declining participation of the working-age population in many countries. The study estimates that approximately half of all people's activities, for which they are paid to do them, could be automated by adapting currently demonstrated technologies.
