Important rapporteurs and experts will meet at the 5 ° International Seedling of Lima Cranberries

A dozen high-level rapporteurs will meet in Lima to exhibit at the 5 ° International Cranberry Seminar that will be held on August 4 at the JW Marriott.

The academics, researchers and experts of the agribusiness industry, will develop various topics related to blueberry, covering the technical and management aspects of the crop, and the commercialization and development of the industry as the most important topics.

Initially, different specialists will review the commercial aspects of the Peruvian blueberry industry and its perspectives, and analyze the Peruvian strategy for entering international markets, stopping to review the “Origins, development and factors that explain the growth of the Peruvian blueberry industry”, by Ing. Alfonso Velásquez, representing Sierra Exportadora.

Among the international rapporteurs are the professor at the University of Talca, Chile, Gustavo Lobos, who will present the phenomena as a means to accelerate the processes of genetic improvement, in his presentation “New experiences and research: Increase of the yield and quality of fruit”. Jeffrey Ford of Fallcreeck will board “The role of Peru in the global supply of blueberries and the importance of genetics”. On the other hand, Iván Frutos, Ph.D. International Technical Director of the Agronomy Area of ​​the multinational AGQ Labs, will present the topic: “Breaking myths in blueberry cultivation. Agricultural strategies for productive success ”, and the agronomist and plant nutrition consultant, Gonzalo Allendes, will do so with: “Firmness, caliber and consistency in blueberry fruits: importance of proper nutrition”, among other rapporteurs.

Finally, and closing the program, it will be the turn of the presentation of the agronomist Sebastian Rivera Smith, Postharvest Researcher of the Institute of Agricultural Research, INIA, of Chile, who will extend on the subject “Use of post-harvest technologies (AC, AM and SO2) in fresh blueberries destined for distant markets”.
