There are commercial opportunities for Peruvian foods in Canada

Products with potential for that destination are blueberries, fresh and frozen raspberries, pomegranate, granadilla, cocoa beans and powder, among others.

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) indicated that commercial opportunities have been identified for fresh and prepared foods, clothing and decorative items from Peru in the Canadian market.

He pointed out that this information is collected through the Market Development Plan (PDM) of Canada, a document developed by Mincetur that aims to contribute to the internationalization of the Peruvian company and the diversification of markets.

He stressed that among the products that managed to capture the attention of consumers in that country are blueberries, fresh and frozen raspberries, pomegranate, passion fruit, cocoa beans and powder, frozen shrimp, flowers and buds.

Also, alpaca garments for men and women, cotton garments for babies and children, supplies and cosmetic ingredients, essential oils and gastronomic franchises.

On the other hand, Mincetur detailed that the PDM of Canada is part of the pillar of internationalization of the National Strategic Export Plan (PENX 2025).

PDM shows non-traditional products with opportunities in the Canadian market, profiles of specialized products to boost the Peruvian exportable offer.

In addition, the plan includes priority actions to take advantage of the free trade agreement.
